Do you treat a wealthy senior

September 4, 2010 - 9:41 am No Comments

Do you treat a wealthy senior with more respect than a low-income senior? Do you treat your cleaning staff with less respect than your administrator? Do you treat those that are different from your skin color or ethnic background with less concern than you do those that are just like you?

Take a few moments during the day, observe your staff interacting with one another, and then observe the interaction your staff displays when working with your elderly clients or how they greet visitors to your place of business. You may find that the lack of good old-fashion manners is the root cause for poor employee relations and for unhappy seniors.

Working within the elder care industry is not for everyone. You genuinely must love older adults. Your sincerity and concern for our elderly will come across and good manners will not only make the senior feel wanted and respected, but it will make your day far more rewarding.

It’s a perennial

September 4, 2010 - 8:03 am No Comments

It’s a perennial best-buy, and with the Ford Focus and Toyota Corolla,
the Civic is one of the most visible vehicles on the road today.

And there’s little argument Civic’s popularity isn’t warranted. Honda has
capitalized on the compact car’s success by presenting three body
styles and the notable options of a gas/electric hybrid and two-door
hatchback. But does Honda really need another option in the Civic line?

Apparently it does, considering my test drive for the week, the Special
Edition, 4-door, EX model. It’s an effort in some ways to make the Civic
something it’s not ? a sports car or an economy vehicle with high-end
standard features.

The Special Edition features include a leather-wrapped steering wheel,
a AM/FM 6-Disc in-dash CD, with six-speakers, MP3 playback capability
and an equalizer display function, 15 or 16-inch alloy wheels and a rear
wing spoiler. And while many of the features are perfectly fine, what
really is the point of a spoiler on a Civic? Just how much can it possibly
help a vehicle that features a 1.7-liter, 16-valve, 4-cylinder, 127-
horsepower engine with an automatic transmission?

Nevertheless, beyond its special edition features, the 2005 Civics offers
plenty of what has made the car what it is ? a reliable, economical
vehicle with myriad standard features, few weaknesses, good resale
value and the availability to suit budgets beginning at $13,000 and
continuing to nearly $21,000.

In my weekly drive, the Civic performed to satisfaction and featured one
of the nicest colors I’ve seen on the road.

It was pitiable when the head

September 4, 2010 - 7:01 am No Comments

It was pitiable when the head of the family started counting the few notes again and again. He seeks help from his saviour ? the credit card.

?We will surely make it this month? dad says. Poor dad does not know that he would have to shell out a few notes for a wedding gift in a few days. The invitation was yet to come. Finally the family gives up and decides to face the expense as it comes.

The reason why they quit is they really don?t know what budgeting is. There are many advantages in budgeting. Can anyone imagine the government or a major corporation operating without a budget? A budget is a guide to measure our financial progress.

Their job is to

September 3, 2010 - 9:24 pm No Comments

Their job is to get you interviews. Either that, or you are applying for the wrong jobs. Your resume and cover letter need to sell you to the employer and show them why you are the best person for the job. Alternatively, are you applying for jobs you really have no chance of getting? If so, don?t waste your time or the time of the employer who might eventually have a job that suits you that you should be applying for.

2. You are getting interviews but not job offers.

If you are unable to close the deal in the interview process, look for possible problems: Are you coming across as too aggressive or laid back during interviews? Are you asking for too much money? Is your style of dress turning interviewers off? Are you better on paper than you are in person? Get as much feedback as possible (ask for positive

and

negative feedback) from any employer you interview with who has turned you down for a job. Make improvements for future interviews by fixing your mistakes.

The Vocational Expert

September 3, 2010 - 6:36 pm No Comments

The Vocational Expert testified about Smith?s past work experience. He also testified due to his limitations his skills were not transferable to any other sedentary jobs.

The Decision

: Because we had shown Smith to be limited to less than sedentary work, because he was 57 years old, and because the Vocational Expert found Smith to have no transferable skills, we won his disability case. Mr. Smith was overjoyed with the Judge’s decision.

The Keys to the Win

: Smith and his daughter testified convincingly about his impairments at the hearing. Smith was over 55 years of age. We managed to obtain favorable evaluations from Smith’s surgeon and general practitioner. The Vocational Expert testified Smith had no transferable skills. Thus, we overcame the problems presented by Smith’s past work background as an accountant and his superior education.

September 3, 2010 - 4:15 pm No Comments

Place a coat of compound over the top slightly wider than the previous coat. Use your 10″ wide taping knife to remove excess mud and leave a level coat.

4. Use your wide knife to “knock down” the surface so there are no bumps or ridges. The knife will make the surface level whereas sanding tends to produce humps and bumps.

5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 several times.

6. Again use your knife to level out the surface. Place small amounts of compound to touch up any depressions, and then finally when all is level, use 240 grit paper on a 3.5″ by 8″ sanding block to lightly sand.
